Event - Christmas Week

20 December 2019

For our final week before Christmas, lots of exciting events have been taking place across school. We have been enjoying our celebrations but also remembering the reason for the season.

The week started off with a bang as year 6 performed their Christmas performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The children really enjoyed taking part and it was clear from the accents on display that Year 6 definitely has some budding actors and actresses.

Wednesday was everybody’s favourite day as Christmas dinner was served for all. KS1 had prepared for the event by making their own Christmas crowns to wear, whilst KS2 enjoyed pulling crackers and telling jokes. This is a particularly special day as the teachers get to sit and enjoy their meal with their own class. Lots of fun was had by all.

On Thursday, the Christmas raffle took place. The children gathered excitedly in the hall to see if their name was selected. There were lots of exciting presents on offer and the children enjoyed receiving some presents before the big day.

Finally, on Friday we gathered together as school to remember the reason for the season. We lit all of our advent candles and thought about the wait that Mary endured during Advent. Finally, we placed Jesus in his crib ready for Christmas.

What an exciting week!
